Pool Time

I took Xavier and Anna to Rachel's pool yesterday afternoon.  Xavier really didn't think he wanted to go, but he changed his mind as soon as we got there.  He had a great time!  I thought Anna would like the pool.  She loves bath time.  She HATES sprinklers, but I thought she would think of the pool as a big bath.  She did not, though.  She was scared to death and spent most of the afternoon sitting as far away as possible.  For the last half hour or so that we were there, she sat on her towel next to Rachel near the end of the pool.  That was pretty big progress!

Hayden Falls

We had a pretty busy weekend this past weekend.  Friday night we had a "Bon Voyage" outing with Isabelle.  I dropped her off Saturday to spend 16 days at the Angerman's.  We ate dinner then walked around Old Dublin and enjoyed some delicious Jeni's Ice Cream.  We then stopped by Emily and Paul's for a little while and called it a night!

After I dropped Isabelle off Saturday, we headed to Buca di Peppo for Kelli's OSU graduation party.  Congrats to Kelli!  Kelli, Grandma and Granpa Bertke, and Great Grandma Bohman spent the night Saturday night.

After everyone was gone Sunday, we decided to take a walk down to Hayden Falls.  We thought it would be cool (temperature-speaking) down by the falls, but it was still pretty muggy.  We didn't stay all that long, but it was fun to get out for a little bit.

Xavier and Anna were very curious...
Of course, Daddy and Xavier had to escape the nice walkway and climb the "cliffs!"
Xavier did some of his own exploring...
Anna tried to get a better look...
Anna also showed off her walking skills...
And her falling down skills...(Note:  no children were injured in the taking of this picture.)
The view from the walking path...

Recent Video

When we take "day-to-day" video, we usually just use our older camera, instead of the video camera. I don't actually know how to get video off the CD's from the video camera and it usually takes Brian an hour to remember and then another hour to get all the discs cleared out - not very efficient! I took video off the regular camera from the past couple days and had a good laugh. Hopefully, you will too!

Brian took this video. Apparently Anna is a speed demon on the Diego Hot Wheel! He had to stop taping, though, when she tried to get off. That can be dangerous!

Anna is known to throw temper tantrums. She was in a really good one the other day and I got the camera - there was no consoling her. Do NOT feel sorry for her. None of these cries were of sadness, all anger - LOL!!! She such a drama queen!

Today's water day activity was the Slip and Slide. The kids had a blast. Mady had to be front and center for the video!

Water Days

Yesterday, we had our first water day. Everyone LOVED it, except Anna, of course. She has to be difficult! She had fun running around in her new swimsuit, though!

Tractor Rides

This past weekend was Poultry Days. Daddy went out on Friday for boys' night while the kids and I went to North Star. Xavier has been dying for a tractor ride, so of course he got one. First we wandered around the Hardware looking for a new tractor for him to play with. He was so excited that he peed on the floor! Hopefully, there are no patrons or employees reading this - I cleaned it up and disinfected. Anna loved trying to fall off the Grasshopper and Isabelle had a blast in the tractor too. It's pretty cool that tractor rides were one of our favorite things as kids and now it's one of my kids favorite things! There was a pretty cool sunset that night, too!

Friday Night Fun

Isabelle had a great surprise waiting for her this afternoon when she got home from her LAST day of 3rd grade - her BFF was waiting for her. Our plans changed and since we are not going out of town this weekend, she got to go to her friend Caidyn's house for a sleepover. We took advantage of one less mouth to feed and brought Xavier and Anna to House of Japan (hopefully, Isabelle isn't reading this, she will be mad!). We have brought them before, but they both seemed to enjoy it a lot more than the last time. After eating dinner, we went to the park nearby. They both had lots of fun. Xavier took his second "nature pee" of the day, but we had to leave after he took his traditional "poop my pants in the park." This marks the second time he has pooped his pants there. No complaining from us, though. He's been a pro at potty training and really only has accidents when he's having too much fun to remember to go!

Anna loved going down AND up the slide! They both had a great time in the swings.

Xavier climbed the rock wall many times. He was so proud of himself!

Allergic to Sunscreen?

I put sunscreen on Anna Sunday before heading to the outlet mall and she just kept rubbing and rubbing her face and was very grumpy. It was Baby No-Tear kind and none of the other kids have trouble with it, so I don't think it got in her eyes and bothered her. I wiped her face off with a baby wipe and she seemed to be fine. Today I put it on again, and now she looks likes she has hives! I washed her face with baby soap and put some hydrocortisone on it, but she is still miserable. Anyone think she might be allergic? Any suggestions on other kids of sunscreen? Poor baby!!!

Little Walker

Anna is getting more and more confident in her walking. She walks about 50% of the time now, so much better! If she's not walking, she's usually climbing on something instead. She's such a daredevil! There are lots of bumps and bruises in her future!
