Potty Training - Anna (Part 1)

Anna threw a fit tonight because I turned the light off after going to the bathroom.  I told her that when Mommy puts pee in the potty that Mommy gets to turn off the light and when Anna puts pee in the potty, Anna can turn off the light.  So, of course, she wanted to pee.  And, she put a little tiny green ball of poop in the potty -  yea for Anna!  Later she was sitting on the couch grunting and told me she was "peeing" (I'm not sure she knows the difference yet), so I asked her if she wanted to put it in the potty.  She said "No, Anna poopin' on couch".  I suggested we go on the potty again and she wanted to.  Here is the result:

Looking comfortable...
I think Anna would do almost anything for a yogurt raisin (I had to crop this photo...it wasn't G-rated!)
What's in there?
I'm so proud of myself!

St. Patrick's Day

I made green Rice Krispy treats with the kids on Thursday afternoon.  I wanted to cut them out with a shamrock cookie cutter, but I couldn't find one.  Who knew it would be so hard to find a shamrock cookie cutter in Dublin around St. Patrick's Day?!  Instead, we used a flower cookie cutter and make "6-leaf" shamrocks!

Xavier counting out 6 cups of Rice Krispies.  Anna, as always, is right in the action!
They all helped to press them down.  Xavier put ALL his weight in it.
I tried 3 times to get all of them to look at the camera and this is the best I got!
 Xavier cutting out his "shamrock."
Anna cutting out hers...she did eventually kick Alex in the face.

Anna's Glasses

We picked up Anna's glasses tonight and she is doing okay with them.  She was very excited to go, but once we were there, the excitement wore off.  Yes, they are a little big, but the size smaller would have fit from now until May, so we upped them a little!

Happy Birthday, Isabelle & Anna!

Little Isabelle is turning 10 and Anna is about to be 2.  We can hardly believe how time has flown by!  We celebrated their birthdays today with all of their family!  Anna was a very happy girl all day and so was Isabelle.  Xavier had a pretty hard time being the only one not getting presents, but after we reminded him that in September he gets all the presents to himself, he was happier.  Anna let him help her open most of her presents.

Xavier helping Isabelle open her cards.
We got Isabelle tickets to see Taylor Swift.  I thought she would be sooo excited, but she barely had a reaction.  Hopefully, she's just so shocked, she hasn't processed it yet!
Isabelle has been wanting a bag from ThirtyOne for while and she finally got her first bag from Grandma and Grandpa Bertke!
Anna's pigtails - Mommy's favorite!
Anna LOVES her Elmo!
It took 3 stores, but Grandma and Grandpa Selhorst finally found a bike for Isabelle!
Isabelle chose Apple/Pear Crisp instead of cake.  It's pretty hard to make candles stand up in a crisp!
Anna blew the candle out the first time before we could even sing to her!  When I went to re-light it, she got scared of the attention and needed to sit in Mommy's lap.  Xavier was on hand in case Anna needed an extra pair of lungs!

Kelli & Dustin's Wedding

Yesterday, we finally got to formally add Dustin to the Bertke family!  The weather wasn't perfect, but the wedding, of course, was!  Anna was the flower girl and actually made it down the aisle!  Xavier loves to dance, but usually clams up when the music starts at weddings, but he had a great time last night.  It was a great night and now we're all very tired!

Will she or won't she...that is the question!
 There she goes...
 The happy couple!
 Dancing with Daddy
 Brother-Sister dance!
