This is it! I decided that Monday would be the first day of full-blown potty training for Xavier. We had played around with it before to see if he was ready, but this time we're not turning back! Monday was pretty unproductive. He sat on the potty many times, but didn't pee in it at all. He had 2 pee-pee accidents, but really did all of his peeing in his pull-up during his nap. Tuesday was much different! He peed in this potty all day long! No poop either day, though.
Wednesday was the same. About 10am, though, Xavier started walking around the daycare room in circles (think of a dog deciding where to poop). I knew that he had to be pretty plugged up because he normally poops 3-4 times a day and now he had gone almost 3 days! After circling a couple times, he tried to escape the daycare room because he said he "needed to go nigh-nigh." Well, I knew he really just wanted to hide in a corner and poop somewhere. At this point I just felt sorry for the poor boy and just wanted him to get his poop out - who cares about the potty! So, I asked him if he wanted to put in a diaper and poop in his diaper. He of course wanted to. Once it was on, he hid in a corner and did his business. He felt much better after!
Thursday and Friday have been the same. He has not had a pee-pee accident since the first day! He doesn't tell me when he has to go, yet, but he does hold it for a long time. I only ask put him on the potty every couple hours. Yesterday he pooped in his pants about 5 times - I'm very discouraged. Today, no poop anywhere. I think I'm back at square one on the poop.
His reward for going on the potty is yogurt-raisins. Lately, he's just as happy hearing how happy we are and how proud we are of him as he is getting yogurt raisins. He's such a good boy! (This picture is actually from February. I haven't taken any this week.)
